About She Got Hands Massage

and more about April K. Clarke

My journey to massage therapy started with my childhood. I was raised in Florida by a single father alongside my older brother, and I grew up learning that touch could be a simple way to comfort someone who was hurting. My father dealt with back problems, and I would often use massage to help him feel more comfortable. As I got older, my life took me through foster care, family changes, military school, military service, and eventually an overseas deployment at a very young age. I experienced loss, instability, homelessness, and other challenges that forced me to learn how to keep moving forward even when I did not always know what came next. Through those experiences, I continued to find myself naturally using massage to help people around me, including fellow service members. After leaving the military, I worked different jobs and eventually made my way from Florida to North Carolina, where I began rebuilding my life.

(An outline about how She Got Hands)

For a long time, survival was my focus. Eventually, I realized I wanted to build something that belonged to me and gave me a positive direction. After receiving my VA disability rating, I enrolled in massage school in North Carolina and started building She Got Hands Massage while completing my education. I created my own website, promoted my services independently, and learned how to build a business through experience, mistakes, persistence, and a lot of trial and error. I eventually became a North Carolina Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist. Today, I see massage as more than a career, it is a skill that has been part of my life for many years. I provide professional bodywork within my scope of practice and am now taking She Got Hands Massage into its next chapter by transitioning toward event-based massage services for organizations, communities, workplaces, celebrations, and private events.

Individual sessions are available at select locations. See the FAQ for daily locations to experience my work before booking an event.
